On the Issues of Application of Smart Design Technologies in the Management of Technological Processes and Production

Abstract
This article is of an overview nature and is devoted to the problems of research and development of scientific and methodological foundations of digital design, including technologies that ensure the implementation of the concept of advanced digital "smart" design in mechanical engineering. The driver of this process is the Digital Twin development technology. The analysis performed on the design and implementation of digital twins at enterprises showed that the methodology of 3D modeling of digital production, the creation of virtual models, the methods of simulation of digital production, allows to justify both the introduction of digital technologies and projects of digital design of technological processes and production in general. The development of digital twins is based on the analysis of data on the actual technological process using modern methods of machine learning (Ma-chine Learning) and big data technologies (Big Data).
